NAPEO 2019 Annual Conference

NAPEO Gives Back

NAPEO Chair Barron Guss launched a new initiative this year aimed at serving the communities which host NAPEO's biggest conferences. The NAPEO Gives Back initiative focuses on highlighting and facilitating PEOs making a difference in their communities. The goal is to harness the collective power of our industry to serve others in need and leave our host cities a little better off than when we arrived.

NAPEO + Anthropos Arts Partnership
Anthropos Arts has been selected as NAPEO’s philanthropic partner for this year's annual conference. There will be a variety of ways and levels of giving to support Anthropos Arts during the conference to achieve our goal of 100% attendee participation. Here are some of the ways you can participate:

  • Spend a few moments appreciating our industry's musical talent as some of our NAPEO members perform and collect donations on behalf of Anthropos Arts at various times throughout the conference.
  • Check out the raffle at the NAPEO booth during the NAPEO Marketplace.
  • Enjoy a specialty drink while being entertained by the Anthropos Arts students during our Tuesday evening event, Keep NAPEO Weird.

100% of donations collected will benefit Anthropos Arts.

How to Donate
NAPEO is collecting donations on behalf of Anthropos Arts before and during the conference. 100% of all donations received will go to Anthropos Arts. You can make a donation prior to the conference in two easy ways:

About Anthropos Arts
Anthropos Arts is an Austin-based, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to connect low-income Austin students with professional musicians, cultivating confidence, integrity, and life skills through musical instruction and mentorship. Anthropos students receive free instruction and mentorship from some of the best artists in the country, performance opportunities at Austin’s seminal venues and events, and exposure to a wide range of music as both audience and performer.

Anthropos Arts was founded to address a need in Austin for high-quality music education for low-income students. Anthropos Arts began in the spring of 1998 at Travis and Reagan High School, with 2 workshops and 15 students getting free music lessons. Since that beginning, Anthropos has gone on to provide over 18,000 music lessons to low-income students, over 100 incredible workshops in Title I schools with world-class and Grammy-winning artists, and over 150 public student performances and collaborations with world-renowned artists. All of this has come at $0 cost to the students, families, schools, or districts that Anthropos serves. To learn more about Anthropos Arts, check out this video or visit Anthropos' website!

Key Statistics:

  • 100% of Anthropos students are low-income and have little or no access to live music, no exposure to significant music genres, and no opportunity to receive high-quality, individualized music instruction.

  • 100% of Anthropos senior students graduate from high school; for 5 of the last 6 years, all have gone to college on scholarship.
