The NAPEO Gives Back initiative was launched in 2019 to harness the “Power of Many” in the PEO industry and facilitate community involvement and charitable endeavors. One of the key parts of the initiative is give back to the cities that host NAPEO’s Annual Conference & Marketplace and other meetings by making an impactful contribution to a worthy local charity that will make a real difference for the host city.
“We started NAPEO Gives Back to leave the communities that host our conferences and meetings a little better off than they were before we arrived."
-- Barron Guss, NAPEO’s former chair and the driving force behind the NAPEO Gives Back initiative.
Since 2019, our fundraising total for NAPEO Gives Back is now $1,051,414! We continue to leave the communities that host our Annual Conference & Marketplace better off than before we arrive.

THE IMPACT OF NAPEO GIVES BACK THROUGH THE YEARS
2019
In the first year of NAPEO Gives Back, the association raised more than $52,000 for Anthropos Arts, an Austin-based charity that provides mentoring and musical instruction for low-income students. Our donation made a substantial and lasting impact on the group, creating longevity and the ability to help a broader group of kids in the Austin area. Read more about what our donation meant to them here.
2020
In 2020, we partnered with Marco Island, Florida-based Our Daily Bread Food Pantry, which distributes food to more than 30,000 residents annually. These folks, who depend on the tourism and hospitality industries for their livelihoods, were significantly impacted by the pandemic, taxing the resources of the food pantry. Despite being on a virtual platform as opposed to in person, we raised $79,470, which enabled Our Daily Bread to purchase a long-desired walk-in freezer. The freezer allows them to store and distribute more food to more residents. Read more about the impact of our fundraising efforts in the Coastal Breeze News .
2021
With the site our 2021 annual conference being in Military City USA, San Antonio, we partnered with Soldiers' Angels, which provides aid, comfort, and resources to the military, veterans, and their families. We raised more than $138,000, enough to fund Canteen Gift Cards for one full year, feeding more than 11,000 vets as they pass through the VA hospital system in San Antonio. Read the full impact statement here.
2022
Galvanized by the hashtag #PowerofaShower, NAPEO Gives Back raised a stunning $193,637 for the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission (CVRM) near Palm Spring, CA. The donation means that CVRM can purchase a second mobile shower unit to bolster their efforts to reach the neediest and most disconnnected homeless residents in the region. It also bolsters their efforts to combat the growing food insecurity among vulnerable residents.
2023
In 2023 we partnered with Give Kids the World, an extraordinary 85-acre resort in Central Florida that offers magical experiences to children with critical illnesses and their families, providing them with hope, joy, and unforgettable memories while they are experiencing a wish come true. We raised a total of $317,482.39. Because of our contributions through NAPEO Gives Back, many families from around the world will experience the magic and wonder of Christmas year-round. By installing 1.6 million festive Christmas lights throughout the village, we were able to create a captivating atmosphere that will bring joy and happiness to these young heroes and their families.
2024
In 2024, we continued our partnership with Give Kids the World. We raised $269.466 for remodeling the Gingerbread House, the primary dining venue for wish families. The heartbeat of the Village, the Gingerbread House serves more than 350,000 meals yearly while providing a welcoming and relaxing focal point for wish family bonding, socializing, and camaraderie.
