Eligibility

If your company is a professional employer organization (PEO), or is in the process of starting a PEO, you qualify for PEO membership.

If your company provides products or services to the PEO industry and is NOT engaged in the business of providing PEO services or is based outside of the United States, you must apply as a associate member. Please email Nancy Benoudiz or contact her at (703) 739-8169.

NAPEO Membership Dues

PEO membership dues for NAPEO are based on the company’s annual PEO payroll. You must indicate PEO wages for the entire business entity, including wages of the internal staff of the PEO, all entities/acquisitions of the PEO, affiliates and regional offices offering professional employer services. The following formula is used to calculate the dues:

  1. At a rate of $180/million for each million of annual wages up to $150 million (Note: minimum dues = $5,000)
  2. At a rate of $130/million for each million of annual wages from $150 million to $500 million
  3. At a rate of $20/million for each million of annual wages from $500 million to $1 billion
  4. At a rate of $6/million for each million of annual wages from $1 billion to $2.5 billion
  5. At a rate of $5/million for each million of annual wages from $2.5 billion to $40 billion
  6. At a rate of $4/million for each million of annual wages over $40 billion

* To ensure the accuracy of member dues, NAPEO requires members to verify the dues calculation by providing their 3rd quarter 941s. (Please note that this information will be kept completely confidential and will not be shared with any other parties.)

Are you a startup PEO that does not have any 941s for PEO services, please enter $0 in the dues calculator and the formula will calculate to the minimum dues of $5,000.
